The Real Cause of Heart Attacks
For decades, doctors and dentists have been forced to put out fires
instead of finding the causes behind them. Such an underlying mindset
has fostered pharmaceuticals which relieve symptoms of disease by covering
them up; dentistry which polishes, patches, and extracts; and surgeons
who have little opportunity to be able to delve into the underlying
causes of diseased organs when most of their time is involved with the
removal (or replacement) of them.
All this is changing as patients and people are beginning to take
responsibility for themselves and are seeking ways to augment their
health with safe nutritional supplements, proper diet, a wholesome
life style, and quality exercise.
Only recently have we begun to look past the symptoms to the deeper
roots of our health problems. For instance, when an abscess develops
in our mouth, we are no longer compelled to pull the adjacent tooth,
but can work on improving the condition of our blood and our immune
system to be able to rid that area of poisons and save the tooth.
If your finger becomes abscessed, do you cut it off?
With the advancement of technology, we now have amazing tools to
help surgeons perform incredibly precise surgeries on heart walls,
arteries, and other organs. These same technological advancements
also yield devices which are able to diagnose and treat diseases non-invasively.
Recently, Dr. Valentin Fuster, President of the American Heart Association
and director of the Cardiovascular Institute at Mount Sinai School
of Medicine in New York has suggested that we begin to look in the
direction of vulnerable plaque, inflammation, physical
activity and diet, genes, cholesterol levels, and education.
(See A Health Heart Update by Valentin
Fuster).
Further, Daniel Q. Haney of the Associated Press stated that "Medicines
understanding of what causes heart attacks is being rewritten."
The article goes on to say that vulnerable plaque, something
that cardiologists cant see, is responsible for 85% of all heart
attacks. Dr. Steven Nissen of the Cleveland Clinic then adds "The
rupture of a plaque will be the cause of death of about half of all
of us in the United States. Understanding why they rupture is probably
the most important question today in cardiology and even the most
important question in the country." (See Vulnerable Plaque,
The Latest in Heart Disease? by Haney)
Its no wonder, now that such information is being disseminated
that we are beginning to see changes in the medical profession. The
treatment of choice for chest pain, heart, or cardiovascular problems
has been to date bypass surgery or angioplasty, even though, as intelligent
professionals, these highly skilled surgeons have been aware that
removing a piece of blocked artery is simply a "patch" technique
to prolong their patients life but one which by no means "cures"
the problem. With the recent understanding of vulnerable plaque, new
techniques are being sought to cope with heart attacks, strokes, etc..
We trust that soon the step will be taken whereupon traditional medicine
will be able to publish the concept that the condition of the blood
might be responsible for causing the plaque thats blocking
the arteries that the surgeons are replacing.
At that point, the change of direction which can only be eluded to
in articles, journals, and books at this time will be underway. The
condition of the blood, nutrition, safe supplements, preventive and
longevity medicine will be the Medicine of Choice of the Future.
Fully twenty years ago, Dr.
Gordon realized that the condition of the blood was the all important
factor in cardio-vascular medicine. He discovered that by manipulating
the molecular environment of a patients bloodstream utilizing
the unique synergistic nutritional support formula based on the lifes
work of Dr. Lester Morrison, he was able to document such significant
improvements of blood flow to the legs, head, and heart of patients
experiencing problems of clot, spasm, and arrhythmia that, even without
adding the powerful intravenous chelation treatments, less than 5%
of his patients ever found the need to go on with previously proposed
or strongly recommended heart of blood vessel surgery. If intravenous
chelation and oxidative therapies were added (when indicated), this
number diminished to under 1%.
Dr. Lester Morrison had already extensively documented a better than
70% reduction in second heart attack rate(1). Fifteen years
ago when we worked with Dr Morrison we added oral EDTA to his formula,
and using this along with other useful anti-atherogenic nutrients,
Dr. Gordon was able to make the Morrison Heart Formula easier to take,
more concentrated, and even more effective.
The overall benefits of this unique proven formula have now been
further enhanced by adding the beneficial lipid lowering effects of
red yeast and beta sitosterol as well as a unique combination of Grape
Seed Extract (OPCs), EDTA, EPA, MSM, Phosphatidyl Serine, Red Algae,
Ginkgo Biloba, high allicin containing Organic Garlic, and more than
50 other ingredients, most of which are well documented and known
to improve circulation, reduce strokes, and promote health and longevity.
Purpose of Beyond Chelation:
The purpose of the new Beyond
Chelation Formula is to help prevent strokes and heart attacks which
are in part the end result of the formation of atherosclerotic plaques
and the associated formation of thromboxane which leads first to enhanced
platelet aggregation, then to artery blockage, and finally on to thrombosis.
The Formula deals with these problems at the cellular level and, by
individual & synergistic means, helps to prevent this well recognized
pathway leading to vascular disease and eventual death from forming.
Safety and Side Effects:
All of the ingredients within the Beyond Chelation products can be
safely and continuously consumed by patients for 30, 40, or even 50
years, providing effective life-long protection at the molecular
level against virtually all of the major recognized factors now believed
to bring on cardiovascular related deaths.
List of Ingredients:
Volumes of pertinent research exist on the 60+ nutrients contained
in the balanced, synergistic Beyond Chelation formulas. Each formula
within the Beyond Chelation package can be used independently or in
combination with the other formulas with remarkable results. Some of
the significant properties of only a portion of these ingredients are
listed below. Further information may be obtained by contacting the
Gordon Research Institute or Longevity Plus Products by phone, fax,
or email.
Alpha Lipoic Acid:
Anti-oxidant critical to the entire network of Vitamin C, E, &
Glutathione
Facilitates many metabolic pathways and helps to convert food into
energy
100% absorbed and is used in Europe to prevent some of the side effects
of diabetes & oxidative stress
EPA:
Essential fatty acids that can best be summarized by pointing out
that the mere ingestion of salmon twice a week has been shown to reduce
the overall mortality from heart attacks by more than 40%. The deficiency
in our diet of this essential nutrient is widely recognized, and the
efficacy in preventing thrombosis or hypercoagulable states in the
bloodstream with supplemental use of EPA is overwhelmingly documented.
GLA (Gamma-Linolenic Acid):
Essential fatty acids which also help prevent thrombosis &/or hypercoagulable
states in the bloodstream
Omega 3, 6, & 9:
More than 25% of the adult American population have low levels of Omega
3 or Omega 6.
Modulation of essential fatty acids (EFA) with diet provides a powerful
tool to treat such disorders as the complications of diabetes mellitus,
cystic fibrosis, Crohns disease, dermatitis, CFS, eye disorders,
brain dysfunction, behavioral disturbances, depression, and neurological
diseases.(11)
Grape Seed Extract (95% Proanthocyanodins):
Contains OPCs which enhance anti-oxidant & lipid anti-oxidant activity
throughout the entire body
Are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and potent metal chelating agents
Shown to inhibit elastases and are therefore good for vascular protection
Capable of modulating microvascular permeability in brain therapy, decreasing
capillary fragility
Effective in stabilizing collagen
Helps to maintain the functional state of the vascular wall
Carrageenan (Natural Extract of Red Algae/Chondrus Crispus):
A sulphate ester of D-Galactose, a monosaccharide, usable by both red
and white blood cells
Dietary Galactose is usable to construct & maintain glycoforms used
in cell to cell communication(2)
EDTA (EthyleneDiamineTetraAcetic Acid)
Prolongs prothrombin time and lowers cholesterol
Oral absorption documented to be from 5-18%
Widely used in the American food supply to reduce the free radical reactions
going on in food
Prevents the copper catalyzed oxidation of Vitamin C(3) and
enhances Vitamin C anti-oxidant properties
Seems to lower the level of toxic metals in the body while enhancing
the uptake of certain essential nutrients
The safety of EDTA in the body has been extremely well documented by
the Food & Drugs Research Labs(4)
Surpasses activity of Aspirin & Coumadin in problems of blood clotting
without their adverse side effects
Stabilizes the entire Beyond Chelation product and ensures its full potency
over time
Gingko Biloba, Phosphatidyl Serine (PS), & Phosphatidyl Choline:
Reduces the cholesterol concentration present in arterial wall
Protects against all nerve degenerative diseases
Has major anti-oxidant and anti-platelet activities
Conserves and restores crucial higher brain functions
Improves membrane function in cells
Benefits young healthy adults in coping with stress
Revitalizes hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis
Is involved in bone matrix formation, testicular function, and in maintaining
heart rhythm
BTN Hydrochloride:
A methylating agent to help deal with the problem of homocysteine
MSM:
An organic sulfur compound known for its anti-inflammatory & circulation
enhancing properties
Helps to build methionine & cysteine -- rate limiting amino acids
which have chelating benefits
Helps manufacture hair, nails, connecting tissue, skin, enzymes, hormones,
and immunoglobulins
May help to keep tissues more flexible and reduce interface friction
between blood components
Chromium:
May counteract the enhanced oxidative stress seen in Type II Diabetes
A deficiency leads to insulin resistance and hyperglycemia
The Chinese documented a decrease in the complaint of fatigue in over
80% of Chromium treated subjects
Vitamin C, E, Beta-Carotene, & Selenium:
Provably lowers the capacity of platelets to aggregate and reduces in
vivo platelet activation
Provably reduces the production of Thromboxane A2(5)
Vitamin D:
Research shows low levels or deficiency of Vitamin D in at least
40% of individuals in America already taking Vitamin D supplements.
With osteoporosis an epidemic problem, an increase in assimilable
Vitamin D is appropriate.
Organic Garlic:
800mg per day offers a significant reduction in total cholesterol as
well as LDL cholesterol
Lowers blood pressure and is anti-viral
Red Yeast:
Works as an HMG CoA reductase inhibitor(6)
Contains the components of yeast cell walls, including Mannans, Glucans,
Chitin, Glycoproteins, & Lipids
Mannose, Zylose, & Fucose are recognized as being 3 of the necessary
8 monosaccharides needed in our diet
Lipid lowering - with lovastatin - reduced combined fatal and non-fatal
myocardial infractions by 40%(8)
Reduces total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol and decreases triglycerides(9)
Beta Sitosterol:
Is an effective option in the treatment of BPH (benign prostatic hyper-plasia)(7)
Improves peak urinary flow and post-void residual urinary volume (PVR)
An effective way used in Germany of primary and secondary prophylaxis
of coronary heart disease
A fully accepted treatment for hyper-lipidema in children & adolescents(10)
